The Knox School Board has finalized arrangements for next month’s summer school classes. On Monday, board members approved a list of 19 summer school teachers and aides. Knox School Board Celebrates Four-Star Status
The Knox School Board last night applauded the announcement of the receipt by the High School of a “4 Star School” rating from the Indiana Department of Education.
To achieve this designation the school must be in the top 25-percentile of schools in two ISTEP-based categories, as well as earn the highest designation in the state’s accountability system and be accredited by the IDOE. Continue reading

The Knox School Board took action Monday night to accept online payments for school fees thanks to a new pay per click management service acquired. Payments for meals and review of what a child eats for lunch will be available on another internet access point.
Questions Raised About Missing Knox PTO Money
Funds, raised for the purchase of elementary school playground equipment, estimated to be as much as $22,000, are alleged to be unaccounted for, according to Charlene Libbey and Shelly Kemble, representatives of the Lil’ Redskins Booster Club.

Knox School Board Recognizes Speech Team’s Efforts
The focus of last nights Knox School Board meeting was the school’s speech team. The Board’s “Spotlighht on Success” agenda item brought four students from Mrs. Kuric’s speech class: Andrew VanAsdall, Samuel Kuric, Colin Kulpa, and Libby McEntee to make impressive presentations. Libby will be competing at the state level on Saturday. The speech class currently has 11 active students. The local competition is judged by parents in early Saturday morning sessions. Knox School Board Discusses 2016-17 Calendar
When the Knox School Board met last night, Knox School Superintendent A.J. Gappa discussed the calendar for the 2016-2017 school year. A starting date of August 4, 2016 for students was proposed; a fall break of October 17-21 or October 10-14, subject to a state required testing schedule; Christmas break, December 21 to January 5; spring break, March 21-31. Classes are scheduled to end June 1st. Graduation date will be June 9, 2016. Continue reading
