Marshall County Sheriff’s Department Investigating Armed Robbery Incident

An armed robbery incident is being investigated by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.

Police were called to the Bottle Stop Liquor Store on Michigan Street in Lapaz on Monday night where the employee said a man brandished a knife and demanded cash from the register. The employee was cut on a finger with the suspect’s knife. Police arrived on the scene within one minute, but the suspect had fled the scene and was not immediately found. The man had run out the front door toward the alley. An undisclosed amount of cash was stolen from the cash register.

Knox CVS Robbed

Knox CVS

The identity of a suspect arrested in connection with the robbery at CVS in Knox last night is still being withheld by Knox City Police.

Knox City Police responded to an armed robbery call at CVS at 9:18 p.m. An officer saw a vehicle leaving the scene at a high rate of speed and a traffic stop was initiated. The driver stopped, then backed into the police cruiser in an attempt to disable the vehicle. A pursuit began which lead into Marshall County. Both suspects abandoned the vehicle on Upas Road in Marshall County and one suspect was arrested. No further information was released by the Knox City Police Department and the robbery remains under investigation.

Plymouth Man Arrested after Pursuit

Plymouth Police Department officers arrested a man after a pursuit incident Monday evening.

A Plymouth Police officer attempted a traffic stop and the vehicle peeled down an alley along Kenwood Ave. Police said that the vehicle continued at a high rate of speed through Westgate and onto State Road 17. The pursuit ended on Redwood and 9th Streets when the driver bailed out of the car and ran into a field and wooded area.

Marshall County Sheriff’s Department Investigates Break-in Incident; Suspect Wore Ninja Costume

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a break-in incident in Walkerton.

A man wearing a ninja costume broke into a home in the 19000 block of 4B Road. According to the police report, as the homeowner was on the phone with police after hearing noises outside the home, an unknown man broke in through a kitchen window. The man entered the master bedroom where the caller was on the phone with police, turned around and left the residence. Nothing was stolen and no one was injured.

Marshall County Inmate Died of Natural Causes

The death of a Marshall County inmate has been determined. Marshall County Coroner Bill Cleavenger said that the autopsy results revealed that Georgina Onofre died of natural causes.

Onofre, 35, was in a special observation area in the jail due to her past medical history and was under constant surveillance by jail staff. She became unresponsive around 4:00 a.m. ET Monday morning and jail staff immediately started resuscitation efforts. Plymouth paramedics transported Onofre to the Emergency Room at the Plymouth Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Marshall County Jail Inmate Dies

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, Indiana State Police and the Marshall County Coronor’s Office are investigating the death of Marshall County Jail inmate, Georgia M. Onofre.

The 35-year-old woman was in a special observation area in the jail due to her past medical history and was under constant surveillance by jail staff. She became unresponsive around 4:00 a.m. ET yesterday morning and jail staff immediately started resuscitation efforts. Plymouth paramedics transported Onofre to the Emergency Department where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Marshall County Police Arrest Two in May Burglary Spree

An arrest has been made after Marshall County Police investigated seven daytime burglaries in the month of May.

Joshua D. Stone of Plymouth and Justin L. Whitt of North Liberty face multiple charges of Burglary, Theft and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Stone faces more than 14 charges including a more severe charge of Burglary with Causing Bodily injury. The pair allegedly stole items from seven residences north of Plymouth. Stone and Whitt are in the Marshall County jail on $100,000 cash bond. Some of the stolen property has been recovered.

Marshall County Sheriff’s Department Investigating Daytime Burglaries

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department is investigating several daytime residential burglaries in north central Marshall County. Burglaries have been reported at residences on Quince Road, 3rd Road, Lilac Road and Filbert Road.

Witnesses have told police that a few of the burglaries revealed the suspect vehicle as a white Ford Ranger and two males, approximately 20 to 30 years of age, to be the occupants of that vehicle and allegedly participating in the acts.
