Hello DollyAspiring thespians can audition this weekend for a part in this summer’s Maxinkuckee Players production of “Hello, Dolly!”  Auditions will take place tomorrow from 9 a.m. until noon and 1 until 5 p.m. EDT and Sunday from 2 until 6 p.m. at the Culver Community High School auditorium. Open Auditions in May for Maxinkuckee Players Summer Production

Hello DollyThe Maxinkuckee Players will hold open auditions for this year’s summer production on Saturday, May 2.

Those interested in a part in Hello Dolly will read from a script prepared on site and sing a song of choice. A pianist and a CD player will be available for accompaniment.

The musical surrounds the antics of Dolly Levi as she decides that she needs to find someone for herself after years of finding matches for everyone else. The musical is set in the City of New York at the turn of the century and provides some famous musical hits such as “Before the Parade Passes By,” “It Only Takes a Moment,” “Put on Your Sunday Clothes,” and the title number, “Hello, Dolly!”.

The Maxinkuckee Players production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will take to the stage in six performances beginning Friday, July 26 at the Culver Community High School Auditorium.

Maxinkuckee Players member Brian Liechty explained that Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is based on the biblical story of Joseph and his coat of many colors. He is sold to be a slave, but because of his ability to interpret dreams, he becomes the right hand man of Pharaoh and saves Egypt from famine.

The cast has been set for the Maxinkuckee Players summer production of Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Zachary West of Argos has been cast as Joseph and Kathy Overmyer of Bremen is the narrator. The brothers will be played by Brian Liechty, Tom Boys, Eric Burch, Grant Ringenberg and Kevin Mallory from Plymouth; Brad Foster and Tony Hutchinson from Bremen; Doug Nielson of North Judson; Phillip McFarland of Knox; Austin Saenz of Tippecanoe; and Caleb Dehning of Culver.

Auditions for the Maxinkuckee Players Production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat are tomorrow (Saturday) at the Culver High School Auditorium from 8:00-11:00 a.m., 12:00-3:00 p.m. and 4:00-7:00 p.m. CT.

When you audition, you will be asked to sing a song of your choice and you will read from the script.

Maxinkuckee Players Announce Summer Production

  
 

The Maxinkuckee Players summer production will be Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Show dates are July 26, July 28, July 31 and Aug. 2-4.

Open auditions will be held Saturday, April 20 at the Culver High School Auditorium from 8–11 a.m., 12–3 p.m. and 4–7 p.m. CT. If you are interested in auditioning, you will be asked to sing a song of your choice, but not necessarily from the musical. A pianist and CD player will be available for you to sing along or you may sing A Capella.

Maxinkuckee Players to Select Summer Production

The Maxinkuckee Players will be voting this Sunday on this summer’s annual production.

They will be selecting one musical from the following five choices: Sound of Music, Cinderella, My Fair Lady, Oliver, or Willy Wonka.

The members will be meeting at 2:30 p.m. ET to make the selection and will have a call out for a selection of a director for the summer production. The musical will take to the stage in six performances in late July and early August.

Maxinkuckee Players To Wrap Up Show This Weekend

Four performances down, two to go – the Maxinkuckee Players will wrap up their live performances of Crazy For You this weekend in the Culver High School auditorium. The musical production, featuring a lot of George Gershwin music, is a romantic comedy musical set in the 1930s.

According to Players member Gregg Underwood, the production also features something unique: open-curtain scene changes. He says between scenes, the props and scenes are changed around in full view of the audience, fully choreographed as much as the production itself.

Maxinkuckee Players Gearing Up For Opening Night

The Maxinkuckee Players will be taking on one of their biggest challenges yet as they prepare for their opening night of Crazy For You at Culver High School. Three of the Players were in the WKVI studios yesterday to talk about the musical play, and Gregg Underwood – who will be playing Bobby Child and Bela Zangler in the play – says it’s a tough show, but they’re ready.

“This is probably one of the biggest challenges that the Players have taken on,” said Underwood. “Lot of choreography, lot of dancing, and we were able to recruit some really talented younger individuals this year that have just stepped up to the plate and are just knocking it out of the park.”

Maxinkuckee Players to Hold Auditions Today

The Maxinkuckee Players will hold auditions today for their summer production of “Crazy For You.” The audition times are from 9 a.m. to noon, 1 – 4 p.m., and 6 – 8 p.m. ET at the Culver High School Auditorium.

Gregg Underwood, a member of the Maxinkuckee Players, explained what the director will expect to hear from you when you audition.

“They can bring a song of their choice to sign with the piano or A Capella. Be prepared to read from a script given to you and perform a short dance combination,” Underwood said.

Jodie Schlatter and E. Anne Ketchen, two members of the Pulaski County Extension Chords, were in the studio to talk about the group and their performance this Saturday. The Pulaski County Extension Chords will present “Life is a Highway” on Saturday, April 28th, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. ET at the Winamac High School Socialtorium. Maxinkuckee Players Production to Open Friday

The sets are made, the actors and actresses have rehearsed their parts, and it’s a about curtain time for the first performance of the summer musical Nunsense – The Mega Musical as presented by the Maxinkuckee Players.

The show’s Director, Becky Liechty, had erlier said the performances this year will come with a larger cast and more music than the original production presented at Culver a few years ago.

Auditions for ‘Nunsense: The Mega-Musical’ Scheduled for May 7th

Auditions for the Maxinkuckee Players 2011 production of “Nunsense: The Mega-Musical” are set for Saturday, May 7th in Culver. Three sessions: 9:00 a.m. to Noon, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., and 5:00-9:00 p.m. ET are scheduled at the Culver High School choir room.

There are two female lead roles in the show, six secondary roles for either male or females and a number of people are needed for the chorus. There is a lot of singing and according to the Director, Becky Liechty, “reasonable” dancing for all.
