Celebrate Pulaski County’s 175th Birthday
Celebrate Pulaski County’s 175th birthday during this weekend’s Northern Indiana Power from the Past show at the Winamac Town Park. Birthday clown Megan Lee Shurn, who was among the 15 children chosen in 1989 to be in charge of the county’s bicentennial celebration in 2039 will be cutting and serving birthday cake at the entertainment stage at noon EDT on Sunday, July 21. The county was named for County Cashmir Pulaski, who was killed during the Revolutionary War during the attack on Savannah in 1779.
Northern Indiana Power From The Past Kicks Off Today
The 35th annual Northern Indiana Power From the Past kicks off today! Their preview night, featuring HAP’s Chicken Bash, took place yesterday from 4:30 to 7 p.m. ET, sponsored by Boy Scout Troop 229.
Headlining this year’s show is Nashville Country Recording Artist Levi Riggs, and the event features Ford and Fordson tractors and will also exhibit motorcycles from the World of Motorcycles Museum, Inc., in North Judson.
Northern Indiana Power From The Past Kicks Off Next Week

The preview night is set for Wednesday, July 18 with HAP’S Chicken Bash from 4:30 to 7 p.m. ET, sponsored by the Boy Scout Troop 229. The headline event for this year’s Power Show is a performance by Nashville Country Recording Artist Levi Riggs.
Quilt Display is Just One Feature of the Power from the Past Show
The Northern Indiana Power from the Past Show continues today at the Town Park in Winamac. This is the 34th annual antique power show, and the highlight today is the Horse Pull sponsored by the Northern Indiana Horse and Mule Pullers Association. That begins at 7:00 p.m. ET. The Northern Indiana Power From the Past Show begins today at the Winamac Town Park. This year’s featured attractions are John Deere tractors, engines, machinery and tools.
Other events today include the Ladies-Only Skillet Toss. Tonight at 7:00 p.m. ET, there will be square dancing with caller Ralph Hardy and tractor games.
