The Culver Town Council will consider the next step for the proposed Culver Meadows development. It would consist of about 25 single family homes and townhouses, as well as a new gas station in the area of State Road 10 and State Road 17. The highlight of Tuesday night’s Culver Town Council meeting was a public hearing that was held to review a Planned Unit Development application for Culver Meadows.
Town Manager Jonathan Leist explained that this week’s hearing consisted of a review of the primary plan and rezoning request. Culver Town Council Tables Annexation Ordinance
The annexation ordinance involving parcels at 17664 State Road 17 and 19456 State Road 10 in Culver is tabled. Thomas Beste recently requested that action in a written notice to the Culver Town Council. Two readings of the ordinance have unanimously passed, but the third reading will be on hold.
This decision comes after the council rejected the first reading of an ordinance that would rezone those 71 acres as a Planned Unit Development for a housing development and gas station. Several residents spoke out in a lengthy public hearing earlier this month against the proposed gas station on the north side of State Road 10.
Culver Town Council Considers Annexation, Rezoning of Proposed PUD Project
An hour-and-a-half of Tuesday’s Culver Town Council meeting was centered around the annexation and rezoning of 17664 State Road 17 and 19456 State Road 10. The annexation simply places the five contiguous parcels totaling 71 acres into the town’s limits. Utilities would be available for connection at the expense of the developer. After hearing questions concerning connectivity of utilities during a public hearing on annexation, the board unanimously voted in favor of the second reading of the ordinance allowing the process to continue. A resolution was also unanimously approved to accept the fiscal plan as part of the process.

A public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, March 13 for the proposed Planned Unit Development (PUD) at 17664 State Road 17 and 19456 State Road 10 in Culver owned by Thomas Beste.
Culver Town Manager Jonathan Leist said the plan commission approved the primary plans for Culver Meadows by a vote of 5-2. Those plans will come before the Culver Town Council in a public hearing setting on Tuesday, March 13.
