The Knox Community School Corporation may soon be updating some of its disciplinary policies for school staff, as well as the public. On January 15, the school board is expected to vote on a number of policy updates recommended by policy consultant NEOLA.

The Town of Medaryville’s employee policies are getting a slight update, at the request of the town’s insurance provider. Clerk-Treasurer Judy Harwood says the policy book was just adopted by the town council last year. But since then, the insurance company has asked the town to make some minor language changes and add more information about who’s covered.

West Central School Board Approves Policy Revisions
The West Central School Board members approved the first reading of policy manual revisions. Superintendent Don Street said there were a few included in the discussion.
“The board approved student suicide prevention and the required plan for seclusions and restraints in schools as well as the military recruiter’s parent opt-out provisions under ESSA,” said Street.
Additional readings will be considered during their meeting in March.
