A man convicted of pointing a gun at police who were trying to serve an arrest warrant has been sentenced to 34-and-a-half years in the Indiana Department of Correction. Markus W. Miller was sentenced last week in Pulaski Circuit Court, according to Prosecutor Kelly Gaumer.
A man was found guilty in Pulaski Circuit Court Monday of multiple felony counts, after police say he pointed a gun at them while they were trying to serve an arrest warrant.
A traffic stop on U.S. 30 allegedly turned up drugs and landed two Nebraska residents in jail. LaPorte County sheriff’s deputies say they pulled over a vehicle for an equipment violation in the 6300 block of West U.S. 30 at around 1:45 Tuesday morning.

A Wisconsin woman was arrested at a LaPorte County gas station Friday morning. Indiana State Police say they were talking to the occupants of a silver Lexus at the Speedway at U.S. 20 and U.S. 35, when they noticed the smell of burnt marijuana. Troopers say they then found several hypodermic needles. One of them reportedly contained a brown substance.
A South Bend man was arrested, following a LaPorte County police chase Saturday morning. Sheriff’s deputies say they tried to pull over a westbound pickup truck in the 3500 block of East State Road 2, after a registration check reportedly alerted officers that the female owner was a wanted person. The male driver allegedly refused to stop and led officers on a chase through LaPorte.

A Knox woman found to be in possession of 57 grams of meth was sentenced in Starke Circuit Court Thursday. Annemarie Armes, 48, was in a vehicle that was pulled over by police on June 4, 2018, when a police K9 reportedly alerted to the presence of methamphetamine.
A Marshall County traffic stop reportedly led to the discovery of more than 12 grams of methamphetamine. Marshall County Police say they pulled over a pickup truck just before 10:00 p.m. Friday in the area of Michigan and 4A roads. Officers say they found 12.2 grams of meth and a meth pipe inside.

A Demotte man faces multiple drug charges after the property manager at the Winamac Fish and Wildlife Area reportedly spotted him tossing beer cans out of his vehicle Monday afternoon. Tom Despot notified conservation officer Jeff Richwine, who caught up with the suspect and initiated a traffic stop. That’s when he found out that Michael Baggerly, 37, was wanted in Jasper County. Richwine says Baggerly dropped methamphetamine in the seat of his vehicle after he was arrested. Additionally, Pulaski County Jail officers reportedly found a bag of marijuana in his pocket during the booking process. Baggerly faces charges of possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and trafficking with an inmate.
