Multiple Agencies Continue to Work Together on Top Priority Death Investigation

Ever since 37-year-old Knox resident, Barbara McCurdy was discovered deceased over a month ago in Winamac, the Pulaski County Coroner has continuously been coordinating with a number of law enforcement agencies to work on her death investigation.

Pulaski County Coroner John Behny mentioned that this is a top priority case. He said the Coroner’s Office continues to work in conjunction with the Indiana State Police, the Knox and Winamac Police Departments, the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office and the Starke County and Pulaski County Prosecutor’s Offices, collecting pertinent information related to the case.

Toxicology and Autopsy Results for Barbara McCurdy Pending with Pulaski County Coroner

Information about the cause of Barb McCurdy’s death is pending with the Pulaski County Coroner’s office.

Coroner John Behny reports that the only preliminary information available at this time is that she has been positively identified and the next of kin has been notified. Pulaski County Deputies Investigate Fatal Accident

 
 

Pulaski County Sheriff’s deputies and emergency crews responded to a fatality accident yesterday morning.

According to a news release from the sheriff’s department, Dollie Frinkel, 71, of Winamac was traveling westbound on County Road 600 West and failed to stop at the intersection with 100 South. A Pulaski County dump truck driven by David Bailey, 48, entered the intersection and could not avoid a collision with Frinkel’s passenger car.

Pulaski County Police, Coroner Investigate Hanging

 
 

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department and the Pulaski County Coroner are investigating an apparent suicide in the Medaryville community.

The Pulaski County 911 Dispatch Center received a call Saturday afternoon that a man was hanging in a garage in Medaryville. The dispatchers, who are trained as emergency medical dispatchers, gave information over the phone on how to prolong the victim’s life until emergency responders could arrive at the scene. Richard Scott Reid, 46, was then airlifted to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. He later died of the injuries he received in the hanging.

Pulaski County Police Investigate Drowning Incident

A drowning incident is being investigated by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department.

Officers were called to 4242 W. 400 N. in Winamac about a possible drowning. Andrew Jackson informed officers that his mother, Cynthia Jackson, had gone swimming in a pond located on the property and had drowned. She reportedly had permission to be on the property.
