The Pulaski County Commissioners will make another attempt at choosing a paving contractor when they meet this morning. The county has gotten bids from three companies for hot mix asphalt work on County Road 200 South from U.S. 421 to State Road 39 and County Road 400 East from 200 North to 400 North.
Pulaski County now has three contractors interested in doing several miles of paving work, as part of the state’s Community Crossings program. The county commissioners had approved a contract with Central Paving of Logansport for nearly $1.2 million, but they later repealed that decision to allow the project to be bid out formally.

Two Pulaski County roads are set to be resurfaced with money from the 2017 Community Crossings grant. The county commissioners Monday approved a contract with Central Paving of Logansport for nearly $1.2 million worth of road work. Seventy-five percent of that cost would be covered by the state grant funding.
A Tuesday morning crash east of North Judson reportedly ended with a 72-year-old man being thrown from his SUV. Officers with the Starke County Sheriff’s Department say it happened around 8:30 near the intersection of State Road 10 and State Road 39 North.
The North Judson Town Council received a request on behalf of the Prairie Trail Club (PTC) to install signage at the intersection of State Road 10 and State Road 39 during their meeting yesterday evening.
Peggy Bohac spoke as a liaison for Steve Lucas, the president of the PTC, and explained that the club had expressed interest in putting a sign up by Norwayne Field to alert people of where to find the trail. A sergeant with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office is being recognized for saving the life of an overdose victim in Clinton County last month.
Crews from the Indiana Department of Transportation are closing State Road 39 between County Road 750 South and County Road 800 South in Pulaski County beginning today through the end of October.
Restoration of the bridge over the Harp Ditch will be conducted during that time.
INDOT officials say this $350,000 bridge restoration investment will be in the hands of JCI Bridge Group, Inc.
INDOT recently began some rail road crossing repairs that will cause a closure impacting commuters and residents of Starke County.
Norfolk Southern Railroad Company is renewing and repairing a railroad crossing near Knox, causing the closure of State Road 8 between County Road N. 100 E. and County Road N. 200 E.
This closure will last from Monday, September 18th until Friday, September 29th. Norfolk will only be closing this section of State road 8 for railroad crossing rehabilitation. Continue reading

The North Judson Town Board members approved the release of the third and final payment for the State Road 39 sewer separation project in the amount of $25,017. The Board also approved the release of the retainer money for $30,541. The retainer will be paid in full once the project has been cleared by the state.
