Two state lawmakers addressed some of the challenges facing local schools during Monday’s Oregon-Davis School Board meeting. Senator Mike Bohacek and Representative Jim Pressel had a good discussion with board members, according to O-D Superintendent Dr. Don Harman.

A reporter and cameraman from the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) visited Knox on Wednesday, March 9th. The pair were here to record a piece on time, and how it affects people’s lives.
Reporter Rajini Vaidyanathan visited the WKVI studios, where the BBC crew did some filming on how broadcasting to listeners in two time zones often causes confusion.
The Hoosier state going into one time zone! Well now that we have your attention, we might say the chances of that happening anytime soon are slim to none. Don’t think for a minute that Governor Mitch Daniels wants the legislature to spend any time on that issue again.
Because her District is split right down the middle, State Representative Nancy Dembowski (D-Knox) is going on a bill with Representative Hinkle of Indianapolis to bring up that proposal again.
