The Town of Francesville is having issues with its wastewater treatment lagoon. Clerk-Treasurer Linda Bennett says there’s a bow in the curtain wall. That’s been limiting the effectiveness of the dark-colored tiles designed to prevent the growth of algae.
Pulaski County to Hire Attorney to Help Update Wind Turbine Regulations
The Pulaski County Commissioners have agreed to hire an outside attorney to help update the county’s wind turbine regulations, but not before discussing the issue with residents for over an hour Monday. The extra legal help was recommended by County Attorney Kevin Tankersley and Community Development Commission Executive Director Nathan Origer.
Amendments to Salary Ordinance Considered by Winamac Town Council
Amendments to the Winamac salary ordinance were considered on first reading when the Winamac Town Council met on Monday night.
Town Attorney Justin Schramm explained to council members that the first proposed change deals specifically with the salary of the parks and recreation department secretary.
He stated, “It changes the parks and recreation secretary from $30 a meeting to $1,000 payable the first pay period of December.” Continue reading
Winamac Town Council Establishes Community Crossings Grant Fund
Winamac Town Council members established an account for Community Crossings Grant funds when they met earlier this week.
Town Attorney Justin Schramm mentioned that the account would hold the $90,000 awarded through the grant as well as the $30,000 of match money. Providing match money was a stipulation of receiving the grant and the amount would be transferred from the transportation fund. Continue reading
Winamac Town Council Scheduled To Consider Four Ordinances During Tonight’s Meeting
There are a few different ordinances up for consideration during tonight’s Winamac Town Council meeting.

New Health Insurance Option Available to North Judson Town Council
Annually, the North Judson Town Council is required to review their health insurance plan. On Monday, they received a report from their insurance broker John Howard with the Wealth Care Group.
Howard explained that for the first time this year, the council has the ability to pick up to three plans that employees can then personally choose from. No formal decisions were made about which plan to choose. Continue reading
NJ Animal Ordinance will Receive Final Reading at Next Town Council Meeting
The ordinance to regulate the housing and maintenance of animals within the town of North Judson was further discussed during a Monday evening town council meeting.
Council member Jane Ellen Felchuck moved to suspend the second reading and that motion was passed. Town attorney Justin Schramm explained that since they suspended the second reading, if 4 out of the 5 council members approved, they could pass the ordinance then and there. Continue reading
