Having more than 2,000 images of child pornography has reportedly led to a 14-year prison sentence for a North Judson man. Henry Wood, 41, pleaded guilty in federal court to receipt of child pornography, according to U.S. Attorney Thomas Kirsch.

The operators of a former Winamac ambulance service have been ordered to pay almost $1 million in restitution, in connection with a health care fraud scheme. Jacqueline Jay Podell, 46, and Michael Wilson, 53, both of Winamac, were sentenced last week in U.S. District Court, according to U.S. Attorney Thomas Kirsch.

A Kouts man has been sentenced to seven-and-a-half years in prison for charges stemming from a series of arson fires at a mobile home park near North Judson. Michael Thomas, 42, was recently sentenced in U.S. District Court, according to U.S. Attorney Thomas Kirsch. A jury found him guilty of mail fraud almost a year ago.
