Informational Website Launched for N.J.-S.P. School Referendum
Voters who live within the North Judson-San Pierre School District can learn more about the corporation’s proposed general fund referendum by visiting a new website. www.njspfundourfuture.com explains the rationale behind the push for a property tax increase. Corporation officials say it’s necessary due to what they’ve described as a perfect storm of declining enrollment and changes in the way the state funds schools. Voter Registration Ends Monday
The General Election is Tuesday, Nov. 4 and in order to cast your important vote you need to be properly registered.
Voter registration is open this week at all county clerk’s offices. The last day to register to vote is Monday, Oct. 6. You must be registered by the end of the business day on Oct. 6 in order to vote in the November election.
If you need to register to vote or have questions about your current registration, call the Starke County clerk’s office at (574) 772-9160, the Pulaski County clerk’s office at (574) 946-3313 or the Marshall County Clerk’s office at (574) 936-8922. Election and registration information can also be found on the state’s website.
Absentee voting in all three counties begins Tuesday, Oct. 7.

Voter Registration Ends Today, Public Test of Voting Machines Today
Today is the last day to register to vote in the May 6 Primary Election.
One way to register is to go online and visit www.IndianaVoters.com. If you go online to register, you need to have a valid Indiana Driver’s License Number or Indiana State Identification number handy in order to complete the online registration.
If you are registered to vote but you need to update your name, address or other pertinent information, you may also do that online.
Voter Registation Closes Today
Starke County Clerk Evelyn Skronski is in today with some important information about the upcoming Primary Election.
“Voter registration closes on April 9th at the close of business and then it doesn’t reopen until May 22nd. The first day of in-office voting also begins the 9th of April,” said Skronski.
April 9th is Last Day to Register to Vote in May Primary Election
The last day to register to vote in this year’s Spring Primary Election is Monday, April 9th.
There are three registration options for you to consider: You can register at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles when you go to renew your Driver’s License, you register online at this website, or you can go to your county’s clerk’s office and fill out a registration form.
If you are already registered to vote and are not able to go to the polls, but would like to vote absentee, in-office absentee voting begins Monday, April 9th, at 8:00 a.m. CT in the Starke County Clerk’s Office. You may vote absentee until Noon on Monday, May 7th. Primary Election Day is Tuesday, May 8th and polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. prevailing time.
