A tax abatement for Elkay will be up for discussion during tonight’s Culver Town Council meeting. Town officials are also expected to open ambulance bids.
Culver Utility Superintendent Bob Porter asked the town council members for permission to upgrade the meter reading software to a radio read program and purchase new water meters.
Knox Water Superintendent Todd Gardner is looking into replacing some older meters that better meet the need of the building’s user.
Gardner told the Knox Board of Public Works members last week that the revenue loss is quite steep.

The Culver Town Council has given Street Superintendent Bob Porter their permission to purchase 50 new water meters to help phase out the remaining old meters, which are susceptible to tampering. The street department has been systematically replacing the old meters over the last five or more years, and their inventory has been reduced to ten new meters remaining.
