
The Yellowstone Trail Fest begins today for a two-day “Peace and Harmony” event of music, entertainment and fun at the Starke County Fairgrounds in Hamlet.
The car show and swap meet begins at 10 a.m. today (Saturday, August 14), the best dressed hippie contest is at 3 p.m., a women’s skillet toss at 3:30 p.m. and a dance performance is scheduled at 5 p.m. A pewter casting demonstration is at 5:30 pm., followed by 60s music with Chicago Ed at 6 p.m., hippies on stilts at 6:30 p.m. and an Elvis tribute at 7:30 p.m. A fireworks show, sponsored by the Town of Hamlet, will begin at 9:30 p.m.
Sunday’s events include the Quentin Flagg Vegas show at 11 a.m., judging the repurposed metal sculptures at 11:30 a.m., along with a trivia scavenger hunt at 11:30 a.m. The pewter casting demonstration is at noon and the hippie stilt juggling is at 12:30 p.m. Music with the Acousticats Oldies Band 50 begins at 2 p.m. and trivia awards will be announced at 4 p.m. CT.
Enjoy Rendezvous displays throughout the two-day event, as well as a youth activity center with a water slide, hippie bus photography, Yellowstone Trail history, and food and vendor booths.
