The Knox Community School Board unanimously approved the Balanced Calendar Concept for the 2015-16 school year at its Monday night meeting. Specific calendar dates are yet undetermined, awaiting the scheduling of test dates from the State of Indiana.
Administrators commented favorably on the calendar change using such terms as “wise move” and “fabulous.” They also reported that schools which have already implemented the calendar were pleased with the support of both students and teachers. Improved attendance by both groups is reported.
There were no members of the public who spoke either for or against the adoption of the concept.
