Knox School Board Hears Comments Concerning Superintendent’s Contract

The Knox Community School Board held a public hearing Monday night to hear comments on the new superintendent’s proposed contract.

According to Interim School Superintendent Jim Dermody, one patron asked about a rollover clause for the contract. Otherwise, Dermody said there were no other public comments.

The basic salary of the contract will be $108,000 for each year beginning in 2017 and ending in 2020 including insurance and benefits to be paid by the board. The contract will be considered for approval at the school board’s next meeting.

Dermody said a recommendation for a new superintendent will be brought before the board at the Monday, July 17th meeting. The board was hoping to have a new superintendent in place by Aug. 1.

The Knox Community School Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. CT in the meeting room in the administration building on the school’s campus.
