Winamac Park Board Continues Discussing Restroom Projects

The Winamac Park Board continues gathering ideas for new restrooms in the town park. Board member Jon Chapman visited Logansport this week, to take a look at restrooms the city has built in recent years.

Meanwhile, board member and town manager Brad Zellers said the town is learning quite a bit with its other restroom project, near the Winamac Parkway. “What we’re going to do there, the town is going to pour the footer and pour the pad that the block is going to be laid on and Schambers is going to do the rest,” Zellers explained. “We’ve got a contractor that will put little trusses across and roof it. Our water and sewer department will plumb everything on those. Electric department will put the electric in them.”

Park Manager Dave DeLorenzo previously presented plans to build a men’s restroom, women’s restroom, and shelter building as three separate structures in the town park. He said that would avoid challenges with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources’ regulations. DeLorenzo estimates his design would cost about $100,000 to build.
