Knox Peppermint Parade Application Deadline Extended

The Knox Peppermint Parade is right around the corner and residents wanting to be a part of it have received a bit more time to sign up.

Originally, the deadline to register was set for Wednesday, November 22nd. However, in a Knox City Council meeting, Mayor Dennis Estok said so far they’ve only received a little over ten entries. He said he wants to provide some additional time for individuals who may be waiting to sign up until they know what the weather will be like the day of the parade.

The Peppermint Parade will be on Saturday, December 2nd with parade line-up starting at 2:30 p.m. and the parade beginning at 3 p.m. This exciting annual event incorporates community involvement and the Christmas spirit. This is the second year the Peppermint Parade is being held, after Mayor Estok brought it back last year for the first time in awhile.

Thanks to a generous donation from community member Sue Hewlit, a tree towering at least 25 feet has been donated for the Christmas tree lighting ceremony that will take place at 5 p.m. in Wythogan Park after the parade.

Mayor Estok will provide even more information about the Peppermint Parade and details about all the additional festivities when he visits the WKVI Morning Show with Charlie Adams next week.
