Trail Creek Man Surrenders Himself to Police

A Trail Creek man suspected of aggravated battery turned himself into police on Friday, Nov. 3.

According to the Trail Creek Police Department, Gordon R. Gardner threw a bottle of alcohol at a female patron while he was a bartender at Decoy’s Neighborhood Bar and Grill in Trail Creek. The alleged incident that left the woman injured happened at 2:20 a.m. CT on Sunday, Oct. 29.

After further investigation, a warrant for Gardner’s arrest was issued and he turned himself into the Trail Creek Police Department on Friday, Nov. 3.

Gardner, 51, was booked into the La Porte County Jail on felony charges of aggravated battery, battery, and criminal recklessness. Bond is set at $25,000 cash.

The Trail Creek Police Department was assisted in this investigation by the Long Beach Police Department, Michigan City Police Department, La Porte County Sheriff’s Office, Indiana State Police, La Porte County EMS, and the La Porte County Prosecutor’s Office.
