ISP, ICAC Task Force to Speak to West Central Students

The Indiana State Police and Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force will speak to West Central middle and high school students.

Superintendent Don Street said the group will be discussing cyber security and safety with the students.

According to the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, the task force helps law enforcement agencies develop a response to technology-facilitated child sexual exploitation and Internet crimes against children. The program was developed as an increasing number of children and teenagers are subject to become victims to online predators.

The ICAC program is a national network of 61 coordinated task forces representing over 4,500 federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies in conjunction with state and federal prosecutors.

The program will be presented to West Central students on Thursday, March 15.
