Additional court dates will be set on Monday, May 7, for a Winamac man charged with two counts of murder.
Ross Stacy, 32, was arrested on Saturday, March 10, as a suspect in the death of his father, 59-year-old Loss Stacy, and 56-year-old Mary Kurek, of Gary. Police say Kurek was the girlfriend of Loss Stacy.
According to an Indiana State Police report, the incident occurred in the 3900 block of West County Road 200 N. in Pulaski County on Friday, March 9. Police say a family member found the pair dead in the house owned by Loss Stacy and notified the authorities.
The manner and cause of death are pending autopsy and toxicology results.
According to Pulaski County Prosecutor Daniel Murphy, Stacy is being held in the Pulaski County Jail without bond. Kevin Tankersley was appointed as Stacy’s pauper counsel.
Stacy’s May 7 court hearing will begin at 10:30 a.m. ET in Pulaski County Circuit Court in Winamac. Judge Michael Shurn will preside over the hearing.
