Knox Officer Receives Promotion

Knox Police Department K-9 Officer Chad Dulin recently received a promotion

The Knox Board of Public Works members unanimously approved a recommendation to promote an officer with the Knox City Police Department.

Police Chief Harold Smith recommended the promotion of Chad Dulin from corporal to sergeant. He said Dulin has stepped up to assist with daily activities and tasks and is trusted to take over duties in the event of Smith’s absence. Dulin is a 12-year member of the Knox City Police Department.

The promotion took effect Tuesday, May 1. Chief Smith has not made a selection to promote an officer to corporal at this time.

Chief Smith added that he is currently taking applications for reserve officers. He’s received about eight applications so far. Background checks are being conducted on those who have applied. For more information, contact the Knox City Police Department at 574-772-4122.
