Knox Planning Commission members will receive an update about a Pacific Avenue property when they meet in tonight in City Hall at 7 p.m.
Property owner Tim Miller has been in the process of completing all the necessary steps to construct a dual-purpose business on a plot at 409 West Pacific Avenue.
Initially, since the property was zoned residential, it needed to be rezoned to commercial, which requires a public hearing and consideration and approval from both the Planning Commission and the City Council.
After addressing everything that rezoning required, he was informed that his site plan didn’t fit the set-back specifications for rear-yards. Miller has since been advised to appeal to the BZA for a variance on that set-back specification to allow him to obtain necessary permits and proceed with the construction phase as soon as possible. Members will be updated about where the process currently stands at tonight’s meeting.
Members are also anticipated to review a site plan for Traffic Control Specialists and continue their discussion over accessory buildings.
