The Winamac Park Board will get an update on grant funding tonight.
The park board was awarded a Land and Water Conservation Fund grant to replace the Town Park restrooms and install new equipment in the toddler playground, among other projects. But that funding was delayed by this past winter’s government shutdown, and the park board still has to get construction bids for the new restroom.
At the same time, board members are thinking about applying for the grant again this year. One possible project could be the construction of a new splash pad.
In other business tonight, board members will continue discussing plans for the upcoming Town Park cleanup day. One of Park Manager Dave DeLorenzo’s main goals for the event is to plant some trees, to start replacing the ash trees that have been removed in recent years.
Tonight’s Winamac Park Board meeting starts at 6:00 EDT at the Winamac Municipal Utilities Complex.
