Pulaski County Building Inspector Requests Full-Time Staff Member

Pulaski County Building Inspector Doug Hoover pleaded with the county commissioners once again to support his request to move part-time assistant Karla Kreamer to full-time status.

Hoover asked the commissioners last week to go to the council to support his request for Kreamer’s promotion.  Commission President Kenny Becker reminded Hoover that the commissioners already supported the request earlier in the year, and it’s in the hands of the council.

He asked the commissioners to talk to the county council as he’s appeared several times before the governing body without a decision on his request.

Hoover was before the county council in March to request the move, but the members tabled the request as the county’s fiscal plan was in the works.

Hoover stressed that moving Kreamer to full-time status could help streamline the office which would allow more time to get the county cleaned up.  Council President Jay Sullivan said in a previous meeting that he didn’t feel a full-time staff member could help with that while Councilman Brian Young thought the sheriff’s department could assist with code enforcement.

The council may pick up the conversation in a future meeting.
