A North Judson man was sentenced to work release per the terms of a plea agreement between the Starke County Prosecutor’s Office and Defense Attorney Timothy Lemon.
Seth Terry, 40, pleaded guilty to two charges in a hearing in Starke Circuit Court Wednesday morning. He pleaded guilty to a charge of stalking as a Level 5 Felony. He admitted to Judge Kim Hall that in the period between Aug. 31, 2018 and Oct. 10, 2018, he sent threatening text messages to a woman who previously filed a protective order against him. Terry told Judge Hall that he sent several messages to her where he threatened to harm or kill the victim.
He also pleaded guilty to a count of invasion of privacy as a Class A Misdemeanor. He admitted to violating a protective order filed against him.
Judge Hall accepted the proposed plea agreement.
Terry will serve three years in the Indiana Department of Corrections with one year suspended to be served on probation on the charge of stalking. Terry is permitted to serve the executed portion of his sentence on work release through La Porte County Community Corrections. On the charge of invasion of privacy, Terry will serve one year in the DOC with all of the sentence suspended to be served on probation. Those sentences will be served consecutively.
He was credited with 322 actual days of incarceration.
