Starke County Council Considers CEDIT Appropriation for Highway Department

The Starke County Council members reviewed an annual request submitted by Highway Superintendent Rik Ritzler concerning the appropriation of CEDIT funds.

“Each year we appropriate fifty percent of the CEDIT for the road and bridge asset management plans.  It is in the amount of $750,000,” said Ritzler.

This year the funds will go toward the bridge replacement on County Road 200 E. south of County Road 500 N., the new bridge on County Road 700 E. north of County Road 600 N. in Starke County, and matching funds for the County Road 50 S. resurfacing project.

The county council approved the appropriation as presented.
