Knox Mayor Dennis Estok encourages residents to get dog tags purchased for the new year.
They’re typically due by the first Tuesday in March. It’s a $5.00 charge and Mayor Estok says it simply helps officials find the owner of a lost dog in the city.
A current rabies vaccination certificate is required at the time of renewal. Tags are available during business hours through the Clerk-Treasurer’s Office at Knox City Hall.
In addition, residents who own golf carts should think about registering them soon.
In order to drive a golf cart on any city streets, registration of the vehicle is required and an up-to-date Knox golf cart permit must be visibly affixed to the vehicle whenever it is being operated.
The fee for a permit is $25 for day use only and $30 for one that would allow operation during the day and night.
The renewed permit shall be valid for one calendar year, which will run from June 1st through May 31st of the following year.
A sign-up day hasn’t been set yet, but that information may be released soon.
