The Pulaski County Commissioners will continue discussing several proposed changes at the EMS Department this morning. EMS Director Brandon DeLorenzo has suggested reinstating on-call pay, reimbursing employees for the cost of paramedic training, and waiving ambulance fees for county employees and volunteer firefighters.

The Pulaski County Council will take steps to balance line items in the 2019 budget, as the end of the year approaches. Several budget transfers will be up for the council’s approval tonight , including $240,000 for the Highway Department, and almost $47,000 for the Sheriff’s Department.

The Pulaski County Commissioners will hear from a representative of the Save the Courthouse group tonight. The group formed after county officials unveiled a proposal last month to demolish the county’s 123-year-old courthouse and replace it with an addition to the Justice Center. At the time, Maintenance Director Jeff Johnston said the plan would address security and accessibility concerns, as well as a number of other issues, at about a third of the cost of renovating and expanding the existing courthouse.

The non-profit group serves Pulaski, Fulton, Cass, and Miami counties, with its corporate office and inpatient unit in Logansport.
