Glenn Barnes Recommended for Knox High School Principal Position

A recommendation has been made for the Knox High School principal position. Assistant Principal Glenn Barnes has been selected for the job, according to School Superintendent Dr. William Reichhart. The transfer will be up for the school board’s approval tonight.

Barnes would officially take over as principal on July 1. He’d replace Dr. Elizabeth Ratliff, who is resigning from her administrative duties. Barnes has been the high school’s assistant principal since 2018, having previously served as principal of Knox Elementary School. Reichhart notes that the job opening for a new assistant principal has been posted.

In other business tonight, the Knox School Board will consider a 10-percent premium on classified employees’ hourly pay rate for the risk exposure of working during the coronavirus closure. A $1,000 donation for delinquent lunch funds will be presented for the board’s approval, along with a resolution to transfer up to $2 million from the Education Fund to the Operations Fund.

Tonight’s Knox School Board meeting starts at 6:30 in the Knox Schools Administrative Office.
