ISDH Reports New COVID-19 Positive Tests

Nearly 500 additional positive COVID-19 tests were reported in Monday’s report from the Indiana State Department of Health.  The tests were recorded from May 6 to May 17 through testing at the Indiana State Department of health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and private laboratories.

The additional number of deaths in the state in Monday’s report was 14 to bring the total to 1,621.  The report included new deaths from May 15 to May 17.

There are 42 cases in Marshall County and 34 cases in Pulaski County.  The dashboard on the state’s coronavirus website shows that Starke County reported 28 cases, but Starke County Health Nurse Frank Lynch indicated that one was a duplicate report.  Officially, Starke County has 27 as of early Monday afternoon.

These numbers are cumulative.  Information on the number of recoveries isn’t included in the state’s report.

A free COVID-19 testing site is open at Menominee Elementary School at 815 Discovery Lane in Plymouth.  Residents who are showing symptoms and those who are at a high risk of contracting the virus are encouraged to be tested.  Those who need to get tested can register online at LHI.care/CovidTesting or by calling 888-634-1116.  Those with health insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid need to present that information, as well as proof of Indiana residency.
