Proposed Student, Employee Handbook Updates Presented to Eastern Pulaski School Board

The Eastern Pulaski Community School Corporation is looking to move bus stops off of highways. A proposed update to the transportation handbook would eliminate all highway stops both in and out of town, according to the draft minutes from last week’s school board meeting. Another change would offer more guidance on when drivers should use the buses’ strobe lights.

Eastern Pulaski is also looking to update the student handbooks to make the attendance policy consistent corporation-wide. Adjustments to the vacation, holiday, and bereavement day policies are proposed in the classified employee handbook.

The handbook updates were presented to the school board last week on first reading. They’ll be up for final approval at a future meeting.

In other business last week, the draft minutes say the school board updated the 2020-2021 school calendar. The last day of class was moved up to May 28. It had originally been scheduled for May 31, which is Memorial Day.
