The Knox Community School Board members approved the purchase of new Chromebooks last week.
Superintendent Dr. William Reichhart said 1,019 Chromebooks for students in grades 5-12 were purchased for the 2021-2022 school year. The total purchase price was $358,628.33.
He added that the devices the students currently have will be theirs to keep. He said three years ago students were told if they took care of their Chromebooks they would be able to keep them after three years. Returning students will be able to keep their old device at home and carry their new devices to and from school next school year.
