Pulaski County officials will continue discussing the future of Arens Field tonight. The county commissioners recently agreed to hire Daryn Wilder as airport manager, even though some county officials had expressed interest in privatizing the airport. Board of Aviation Commissioners President Jeremy Wegner is expected to weigh in on Bluebird Ag’s interest in buying or leasing the airport during tonight’s joint county council and commissioners meeting.
In other business, county officials will continue discussing the potential restructuring of the maintenance department. The idea is to separate maintenance duties from custodial duties, possibly replacing two part-time positions with one full-time position in the process. Meanwhile, Community Development Commission Executive Director Nathan Origer is expected to give updates on Pulaski County’s COVID-19 response, as well as its planned building projects.
Tonight’s joint Pulaski County Council and Commissioners meeting starts at 6:00 EDT in the Pulaski County Highway Garage, followed by the council’s regular meeting at 7:00. During that meeting, EMS Director Brandon DeLorenzo will discuss full- and part-time wages, as county officials work to address an EMS staffing shortage. A number of additional appropriation requests will be presented.
Both meetings will be streamed live on the Pulaski County, Indiana, Government Facebook page.
