Knox Redevelopment Commission to Move Forward with Next Pop-up Store

The Knox Redevelopment Commission members have agreed to move forward in making plans for another pop-up store downtown.

Knox Mayor Dennis Estok suggested rehabilitating a building downtown to host the next innovative new business. The city is in negotiations now with the owner in order to advance to the next phase.  Estok believes the Redevelopment Commission could take ownership of the building at a reasonable price, but considerable work may need to be done inside before it is available for a new business.  Estok noted that there is money available in TIF funds to get the building up to code and ready to host a successful business.

Estok said there are interested entrepreneurs already, but it will all be worked out as the Redevelopment Commission and the City of Knox work through the process.

The Knox Redevelopment Commission members commented that they are so happy with the success of the Rabbit Coffee Company in downtown Knox that they hope to find the next success story.
