A Tuesday morning accident in Starke County claimed the life of a Knox woman.
Deputies from the Starke County Sheriff’s Office and emergency personnel were called to the area of State Road 8 and 700 E. just after 11 a.m. CT after the Dispatch Center was notified of an accident involving entrapment and a possible fatality.
Police say 80-year-old Goldie Singleton of Knox was pronounced dead at the scene by the Starke County Coroner’s Office. The family has been notified.
Members of the Starke County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau and the Indiana State Police continue to investigate the crash. No other details have been released.
The Starke County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Indiana State Police, Knox City Police Department, Washington Township Fire Department, Knox-Center Township Fire Department, Starke County EMS, Starke County Coroner’s Office, and the Starke County Highway Department.
