Knox Board of Public Works Approves Hire of New Police Officer

The Knox Board of Public Works took action Thursday morning to hire a new officer for the Knox City Police Department.

Mayor Dennis Estok said Harold L. Smith III was approved with a unanimous vote. There were two applicants to consider.

Mayor Estok said Smith has law enforcement experience with previous work as a jailer. He will be attending the Law Enforcement Academy within a year.

Smith is the fourth new officer hired at the Knox City Police Department as of late.
