The Starke County Election Board will hold a hearing Wednesday, May 22 at 4 p.m. CT to determine the merits of a candidate complaint pursuant to Indiana Code that addresses communications regarding clearly identified candidates, soliciting contributions, and disclaimers.
Four written complaints were filed with the Starke County Clerk’s Office to the Starke County Election Board pointing to the alleged omission of a disclaimer on mailings to residents that promoted the campaign of Debbie Wappel as a candidate for Starke County Commissioner in District 3.
Notices were sent to parties May 13, according to Clerk Bernadette Manuel.
The hearing, which is open to the public, will be held in the second floor conference room in the Starke County Courthouse at 53 E. Washington Street.
