Today, Friday, May 1st, is the day for the Starke County Youth Club’s annual Radiothon fundraiser.
The fundraiser takes place from 10am to 4pm Central Time live on WKVI K99.3 FM. Community members are invited to support Starke County Youth Club, which provides programs for area children and families. SCYC has programming before and after school, and during spring and summer breaks. They also host multiple enrichment programs throughout the year.
This annual radiothon is a chance for the community to thank SCYC for its continuous work in its mission to help young people learn, grow, and build strong futures. The theme of this year’s radiothon is “Growing Greatness”, and during the live broadcast, those wishing to show support can call in pledges and share messages that will be read on the air.
Donations raised during the Radiothon will help support SCYC’s local youth programming, providing safe spaces where young people can develop new skills and form connections with their peers and caring adults.
Irene Szakonyi, Executive Director of the Starke County Youth Club, said, “The Radiothon is a testament to this community and how much they believe in the potential of our kids. May 1st is a wonderful way to come together and support local youth. Every gift provides fertile ground in which kids grow today and succeed tomorrow.”
Those wishing to support the SCYC during the radiothon can tune in to WKVI K99.3FM during the broadcast, call in a pledge at 574-772-6241, or donate online at thescyc.org.
