The Culver Town Council continues to move forward with an application to the Stellar Communities Program.
Town Manager Jonathan Leist reported that he and Council President Ginny Bess Munroe have split up responsibilities to process the letter of intent which is due Friday, April 28. That five page document will be reviewed by the Stellar Communities committee on Tuesday, April 4 at 5:30 p.m. at the Culver Town Hall. The meeting is open to any resident interested in being a part of the committee.
Pulaski County is moving ahead when it comes to health rankings. According to the annual 
One in three Hoosiers are at risk of developing type 2 diabetes, according to the Indiana State Department of Health. They encourage residents to take a prediabetes risk assessment. 
The Indiana Court of Appeals has upheld a conviction from Starke Circuit Court. Last June a jury found Earl Beem of Hamlet guilty of possession of methamphetamine and maintaining a common nuisance, both of which are Level 6 felonies, and of possession of paraphernalia.

The City of Knox has set the annual spring cleanup dates. Dumpsters will be provided behind city hall May 19, 20 and 21st for residents to dispose of household items. 
A Lafayette man was killed in a Tuesday morning police action shooting in Pulaski County. It happened on U.S. 421 south of State Road 114, about four miles south of Francesville and involved officers from multiple agencies. 
Starke County officials hope to leverage money from the state to improve the county’s road infrastructure. Highway Superintendent Rik Ritzler is working on a long-term truck route proposal, under which all routes in the county would be within a mile of a highway or hot mix road.
