Engaging in an apparent 104-mile-per-hour speed contest on State Road 2 could lead to misdemeanor charges for two LaPorte residents. A LaPorte County sheriff’s deputy says he saw two vehicles traveling westbound side by side at an “unreasonably high rate of speed” near County Road 400 East around 2:45 p.m. Thursday.
