1/8/17 – A North Judson resident reported receiving a Publisher’s Clearinghouse scam call from someone asking for money upfront and claiming they were on their way to their house.
1/9/17 – A Knox Community School Corporation bus driver reported a blue Yukon passed her bus on the railroad tracks on State Road 8 Eastbound while she was stopped with her four-way flashers on and her door open.
1/10/17 – The owner of a rental property in the 10000 block of east 600 North in Grovertown reportedly found a python, boa constrictors and cobras that have not been fed in over two weeks inside the residence and advised there may be a snake loose.
1/10/17 – A resident in the 2100 block of east 400 South in Knox advised someone has broken into her residence.
1/10/17 – The Starke County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department on a call in the 8900 block of south Birch Street in Monterey where several stolen items were recovered.

1/11/17 – A rollover wreck was reported on U.S. 421 south of the Kankakee River in San Pierre.

1/12/17 – An official at Oregon-Davis Junior/Senior High School advised students are refusing to return laptops and iPads issued by the school. An officer spoke with the parties involved, who promised to return the devices. They were advised charges would be filed if they failed to do so.

1/12/17 – A tractor-trailer versus horse property damage accident was reported on U.S. 30 near Knoll Brothers in Knox. The semi sustained heavy front end damage.
1/13/17 – A property owner in the 8100 block of north State Road 23 in Walkerton reported juveniles in a dark green Ford Taurus wagon are stuck on his property.

1/15/17 – A caller advised two men with a van are rummaging through the remains of a house on north 700 East in Knox that sustained major fire damage a few weeks ago, and he’s not sure if they are home owners or scavengers.
1/15/17 – Several young teenagers on 4-wheelers without helmets were reportedly riding in the roadway at the intersection of 150 South and 200 East in Knox.

1/17/17 – All Starke County units were dispatched to a stabbing in the 4400 block of South Dawn Drive in North Judson. It is being investigated as a murder.

1/20/17 – A North Judson resident reported a 36-year-old man is texting her 15-year-old daughter.
1/20/17 – A resident in the 4000 block of south 300 East in Knox reported hogs tearing the yard up.
1/20/17 – A Knox resident reported receiving harassing telephone calls from someone claiming to be a debt collector.
1/20/17 – Dispatchers received a report of shots fired in the 10300 block of west State Road 10 in San Pierre. The caller advised she heard them after a motorcycle drove by.
1/21/17 – A resident in the 3300 block of east 400 North in Knox reported his mailbox was smashed and the post was stolen.

1/22/17 – A vehicle versus deer property damage accident was reported on U.S. 39 north of the Pulaski County line in North Judson.
1/24/17 – A Knox resident reported a contractor from Valparaiso stole $5,000 from him.
1/24/17 – A resident in the 4100 block of south 800 West in San Pierre reported pellet gun damage to his trailer.
1/24/17 – A Knox woman asked to file a harassment report.
1/25/17 – A single vehicle property damage accident was reported in the 6200 block of State Road 8 in Knox.
1/25/17 – The Starke County Highway Department reported the theft of road signs from the intersection of County Road 400 North and County Road 300 East. A “Stop” sign mounted to a steel post had been stolen. The post that it was mounted to was broken. Another “Stop” sign at the intersection had been knocked over, as well as a “New Traffic Pattern Ahead” sign. The “Stop” sign is valued at $40. Two steel sign posts were replaced, valued at $15 each. The signs, sign posts, and hardware are property of the Starke County Highway Department.

1/26/17 – A resident in the 6000 block of North 600 East in Hamlet reported someone broke into the garage.
1/26/17 – A caller in the Koontz Lake area reported seven or eight mailboxes were damaged overnight in the area of Kaney and Apache.
1/26/17 – A resident in the 7700 block of North Tecumseh Road in Walkerton reported damage to her car.
