5/2/16 – Officers responded to a residence in the 1500 block of north 700 East in Grovertown that has been condemned due to a meth lab where people were reportedly trying to get in.

5/2/16 – Officers responded to the Grovertown Truck Stop on U.S. 30 for a report of an older woman and younger man who have been living in their vehicle there for the past week or so. The caller advised the man was walking around by the semis today with bolt cutters.

5/2/16 – A resident in the 7200 block of south 200 West in North Judson reported four men at her residence threatening to beat up her boyfriend. They were gone when officers arrived.

5/2/16 – A vehicle versus deer accident was reported in the 4600 block of south 850 West in San Pierre.

5/3/16 – A resident in the 2100 block of north 325 East in Knox reported a loose Doberman and advised it bit him the last time it was loose.

5/3/16 – A U-Haul that was previously reported stolen from Massachusetts was returned to Miller’s Auto, Inc. in Knox.

5/3/16 – A rollover accident was reported on U.S. 421 at the Starke/Pulaski County line.

5/3/16 – The owner of property on 1000 East just south of State Road 8 in Knox reported someone dumped a bag of trash on his property.

5/3/16 – An incident with a neighbor in the 2600 block of south 700 East in Knox was reported to the Starke County Sheriff’s Office.

5/3/16 – A resident in the 6100 block of east 100 North in Knox reported several things, including a riding lawn mower, missing from the residence.

5/3/16 – A possible meth lab was reported in the 4300 block of south 200 East in Knox.

5/3/16 – A caller reported a strong odor possibly associated with meth manufacture at the Stay 4 Less Motel in Hamlet. Officers checked the area, including rooms 1 and 2 with tenant consent, and were unable to locate anything.

5/4/16 – Officers responded to a report of a fight at the Save-a-Lot in Knox.

5/5/16 – A residen tin the 9800 block of east 50 South in Knox advised someone broke the glass in the window to his garage.

5/5/16 – A vehicle reported stolen on April 22 in Starke County was recovered in Porter County by the Kouts Police Department.

5/5/16 – The owner of a house in the 5800 block of South U Road in North Judson advised a group of kids are outside tearing it up.

5/7/16 – A vehicle versus fence hit-and-run accident was reported at the NIPSCO substation in the 8200 block of North State Road 23 near the Country Roads Bar and Grill.

5/7/16 – The owner of property on 500 North west of State Road 23 in Grovertown requested police assistance after detaining the 17-year-old he caught doing burn-outs in his planted field.

5/7/16 – A Koontz Lake resident reported her vehicle was keyed last night while parked at her residence.

5/7/16 – The Starke County Sheriff’s Office and Starke County EMS responded to an injury crash on 25 North at 600 East in Knox. The caller advised her son was on his moped and was run off the road by a black vehicle that continued northbound on 600 East.

5/7/16 – A resident in the 3400 block of west 400 South in North Judson advised a neighbor saw two men bending the fence down in her back yard in order to get inside her house. They were picked up by a vehicle and are no longer in the area.

5/8/16 – A resident in the 7900 block of North Frost Street in Walkerton reported a known suspect jumped his fence and stole his white and bluish gray pit bull.

5/8/16 – A resident in the 6000 block of south 250 West in North Judson reported being threatened by a neighbor.

5/8/16 – A caller reported finding drug paraphernalia on property at the intersection of 700 North and 1200 East in Knox.

5/8/16 – The Starke County Sheriff’s Office, North Judson Police Department, Starke County EMS and North Judson Fire Department responded to a traffic accident with injuries in the 1500 block of west 400 South in North Judson. The vehicle was reportedly on fire when they arrived.

5/8/16 – A resident in the 2600 block of south 700 East in Knox reported her neighbor shooting a gun toward her residence.

4/27/16 – The owner of a house in the 6800 block of East Hickory Ave. in Knox reported the theft of items from the front yard.
4/28/16 – The owner of a house in the 2600 block of West First Ave. in North Judson that burned a month or so ago advised people she does not know are removing plants and other items from the residence. A trespass warning was issued.
4/28/16 – A property damage accident was reported at the intersection of 200 Southa nd 300 East in Knox.
4/28/16 – A resident in the 8900 block of south Jefferson Street in Monterey reported being battered by a neighbor.

4/21/16 – A North Judson man who left his vehicle at a Dawn Drive residence came to pick his vehicle up and found the tires slashed.

4/5/16 – Another Knox resident reported receiving a Publisher’s Clearing House scam call. This time the caller said the winner needed to pay a fee before her prize could be delivered. Again these are scams. Hang up, and do not share any personal information.

4/7/16 – A resident in the 4000 block of south 625 East in Knox called the sheriff’s office to file a theft report for medication and was advised they no longer take reports for this.

4/8/16 – A tenant at the Stay 4 Less Motel in Hamlet asked to file a theft report.

4/8/16 – A man advised his girlfriend got a phone call from the Health and Human United Federal Grants Department saying she was getting back $700,000 but needed to pay a fee of $250. This is another type of scam.

4/8/16 – The owner of farm property in the 1700 block of south 200 East in Knox reported young men having a fire and drinking without her permission.

4/8/16 – A North Judson resident hit a tree that had fallen across State Road 39 just north of State Road 10. He was not injured and was able to drive his car home. The Starke County Sheriff’s Office, North Judson Police and North Judson-Wayne Township Fire Department responded.

4/9/16 – A slide-off was reported on State Road 8 between the railroad tracks and 700 East in Knox.

3/28/16 – A visitor in the 200 block of Maryland Street reported the theft of $700 cash from her vehicle.

3/28/16 –North Judson Police followed two juveniles leaving the 100 block of Jones Street pulling a wagon. After further investigation the boy and girl were returned to their parents and a report was sent to the Starke County Prosecutor and Probation offices requesting theft charges be filed.

3/28/16 – A drug investigation by North Judson Police resulted in the arrest of Christopher Gross, 30, of North Judson on felony intimidation and possession of a controlled substance charges.

3/28/16 – An employee at Dollar General reported a shoplifter. The female reportedly removed items from her person and replaced them on the shelf after she believed the police had been called and left without taking any items before officers arrived.

3/29/16 – Officers responded to a domestic dispute in the 400 block of West Talmer Avenue. The man left for the day.

3/29/16 – A resident reported being harassed by loose dogs in the area of the 100 block of Lane Street. Officers were unable to find the animals.

3/29/16 – Officers took a harassment report after receiving a complaint in the 600 West block of Talmer Avenue. The North Judson Police received an harassment complaint in the 600 W block of Talmer Avenue.

3/29/16 – North Judson Police responded to an attempted burglary at the Heartland Market around 9 p.m. Officers believe the alarm scared the suspects away. Officers later learned of a break-in attempt at Fingerhut Bakery. No items were taken in either case.

3/31/16 – North Judson Police were notified of a bicyclist riding in the middle of the highway on State Road 10 West. An officer found a man wearing dark clothing riding west. He also found an accident at the intersection of 750 West and State Road 10. The officer learned three people got out of the vehicle and left the area in a van. A complete accident report was made.

03/21/16 – North Judson Police Officer Brack Rowe arrested Laura Elaine Gregory, 35, 610 Lane Street, North Judson, on a warrant from Carroll County, Indiana. Laura was transported to the Starke County Jail without incident.

3/22/16 – A property damage complaint was reported at North Judson-San Pierre High School.

3/23/16 – North Judson Police responded to an animal complaint in the 100 block of Lane Street.

3/24/16 – A resident in the 200 block of West Weninger Street reported someone let the air out of her tires and scratched her vehicle.

3/24/16 – North Judson Police responded to a report of a possible intoxicated driver on State Road 10. The vehicle was located. The driver showed no signs of intoxication and stated she was “messing around with her kids.”

3/25/16 – A resident in the 200 block of East Leslie Street reported the neighbor’s dogs were running loose. Dog owners are reminded to keep their animals in a fenced yard or on a leash. Owners of dogs running loose in town can be cited for an ordinance violation.

3/16/16 – Officers from the Knox Police Department, Starke County Sheriff’s Office, North Judson Police, Hamlet Police, Indiana State Police and DNR Division of Law Enforcement assisted with the apprehension of a suspect in a stolen car who led officers on a high-speed chase west of Knox into the Kankakee State Fish and Wildlife Area. He was apprehended with the assistance of a Starke County Sheriff’s Office K-9.

3/8/16 – A caller reported the train sitting on the tracks on Klockner Drive in the Knox Industrial Park for more than 30 minutes. The caller advised this happens every day and blocks semi traffic. The dispatcher who took the call contacted the railroad, and officials advised they are checking on it.

3/7/16 – North Judson Police responded to a battery complaint at North Judson-San Pierre High School. A report was forwarded to the Starke County Prosecutor’s Office and Starke County Juvenile Probation Department.

3/7/16 – A resident in the 2300 block of U Road North reported being intimidated by another resident. After a brief investigation it was found to be a misunderstanding. Nobody wanted to press charges.

3/9/16 – Officers investigating reports of illegal drug activity in the 200 block of East Weninger Street found a meth lab and made two arrests. The Starke County Sheriff’s Office, Knox Police Department and Indiana State Police assisted.

3/11/16 – Officers responded to a minor property damage accident in the CVS parking lot. Damages were estimated at over $1,000.00.

3/12/16 – A resident in the 300 block of Leslie Street called the police after finding a dead raccoon stuffed in the mailbox.

3/13/16 – The Dollar General on East Talmer Avenue was robbed at 4:45 p.m. The suspect is described as a white man wearing a white baseball cap, black sweatshirt and jeans. He waited until the clerk was alone and demanded money. No firearm was displayed, and nobody was injured. The suspect left on foot, headed east and then south into a wooded area. North Judson, Knox and Indiana State Police and the Starke County Sheriff’s Office all responded and were unable to locate the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call the North Judson Police Department at 574-772-5914.

3/1/16 – North Judson Police issued three ordinance tickets to the owner of a pit bull reportedly running loose in the area of Vine and George Streets after receiving multiple complaints about the animal.

3/1/16 – North Judson Police received a dog complaint in the 100 block of Lane Street.

3/2/16 – North Judson Police responded to a minor property damage accident in the parking lot of North Judson-San Pierre High School after someone pulling into the lot slid into a parked car. Damages are estimated at around $1,000.

3/2/16 – North Judson Police investigated a report of several dogs running loose in the 200 block of Park Avenue. The owners were advised to keep the animals on their property.

3/2/16 – North Judson Police responded to a minor property damage accident in the senior center parking lot. A vehicle backed into a parked car, causing about $1,000 in damages.

3/2/16 – A resident called about a sick or distempered raccoon not letting them out of their back door. Officers took care of the animal.

3/4/16 – A North Judson resident reported someone trying to get them to use a credit card and send them cash back. Officers advised the person to stop contact with the scammer and not give out any information, volunteer any telephone or bank routing numbers. Just hang up.

3/4/16 – North Judson Police served a failure to appear warrant in the 6000 block of 350 West. They were assisted by the Starke County Sheriff’s Office.

2/26/16 – The owner of a business on U.S. 30 in Hamlet reported receiving two telephone calls from 844-523-9869. The caller claimed to be with NIPSCO, threatened to shut off service due to non-payment and demanded money immediately. She spoke to her boss and called NIPSCO and was advised this was a scam.

2/26/16 – An official with the KL Supermarket in Koontz Lake reported receiving a call from someone claiming to be with NIPSCO telling him to pay a certain amount or have his service suspended. He contacted NIPSCO and was advised it was a scam. He did not send any money but wanted to make authorities aware of the call.

2/26/16 – A Knox resident reportedly received a call from a man claiming to be from the IRS and saying she owed $2,400 in back taxes from 2010. He called from telephone number 703-743-7978, said his name was Jason White and spoke with a broken accent.

2/26/16 – A resident in the 1700 block of South 1200 East in Culver reported the theft of a generator.

2/26/16 – A resident in the 7700 block of North State Road 23 reported receiving a telephone call from NIPSCO requesting money or her service would be disconnected. She advised they paid the money then called NIPSCO and was told it was a scam.

2/22/16 – North Judson Police responded to an animal complaint report in the 300 block of Main Street. The problem was corrected by the owner.

2/23/16 – A resident in the 600 block of E. Talmer Avenue reported to North Judson Police that their car was stolen sometime in the middle of the night.

2/23/16 – A property damage accident occurred at the intersection of Main Street and Park Avenue. North Judson Chief Deputy Joe Budner estimated the damages at over $1,000.00.

2/24/16 – North Judson Police responded to an unwanted guest complaint in the 100 block of East Sycamore Street. The person left without incident.

2/24/16 – North Judson Police responded to a traffic accident with injuries in the area of U.S. 421 and CR 400 S. A vehicle heading west on CR 400 S. slid into the path of vehicle heading north on U.S. 421 due to the slick road conditions. The driver of the vehicle that slid through the intersection was transported to IU Starke Hospital with minor injuries. North Judson Police Chief Doug Vessely investigated and estimated the damages at over $10,000.00. North Judson Police were assisted by Starke County EMS and the San Pierre Fire Department.
