Two people were taken to hospitals Wednesday after a crash in the Grovertown area. Downtown Revitalization Projects to Start in Hamlet

Hamlet Fall 5The downtown revitalization program for Hamlet was given a green light last night for starting Phase I of the project. This step includes some 200-feet of new sidewalk and curb and the installation of three new antique street lights. Investigation Leads to Drug Arrest

A month long drug investigation by the Hamlet Police Department resulted in an arrest. Officers executed a search warrant at 302 W. Davis Street on Friday, according Hamlet Police Chief Frank Lonigro. About an hour beforehand an officer saw several people leave in a vehicle. K9 Assists in Apprehension of Robbery Suspect

Officers from several Starke County law enforcement agencies assisted in the apprehension of a man at a Koontz Lake residence on an out-of-county robbery warrant. They responded to a home in the 7700 block of Tippecanoe Drive this morning to arrest 30-year-old Cody Cooley on a warrant from Dearborn County. A news release from the Starke County Sheriff’s Office indicates they spotted him through a sliding door trying to hide in an upstairs closet. Continue reading
