Oregon-Davis School Board Approves Lunch Price Increase, Updated Instructional Fees
Lunch prices are going up for Oregon-Davis students. Last week, the school board approved a state-recommended 10-cent increase, according to Superintendent Dr. Don Harman. “Our kindergarten to fifth grade will go from $2.35 to $2.45,” he says. “Six through eighth grade will go from $2.45 to $2.55, and our ninth grade through 12th grade will go from $2.55 to $2.65.”

Oregon-Davis students will soon be getting new digital devices. The school board Monday approved a lease with Apple that will provide new iPads to students at all grade levels, according to Superintendent Dr. Don Harman. “We’re just in that rotation that we’ve had our devices for four years,” he explains, “and now the lease is up and we need to redo a lease for another three to four years.”

Knox Community School Board goes to Paperless Meetings
The Knox Community School Board went paperless at their meeting last week.
“For a long time, our school board, even before I came into this position, has been talking about going paperless with their board meetings,” said Superintendent A.J. Gappa. “There has been some resistance, of course. Many adults are afraid of technology and it’s just the fear factor of moving forward. It came to the point where it was time to make a move.”
