Knox Middle School was among the top finishers in a recent nationwide math competition. Seventh grade math teacher Amber Clemons told the school board last week that the school placed eighth out of about 250 schools during a recent competition held by Mathspace.

No major concerns were raised during a public presentation on the Knox Community School Corporation’s proposed building project Monday. More than $18,000 in grant funding was presented to the Knox School Board Monday. The school corporation is once again getting $15,000 for Kindergarten Countdown from the Hardesty Memorial Endowment Fund. Director of Curriculum and Instruction Peggy Shidaker told board members that the Countdown camp is designed for any incoming kindergarten student who hasn’t attended preschool.

Knox School officials are beginning to see some success with updated drop-off and pickup procedures. Previously, cars had been lining up on local roads around the elementary and middle schools. Knox City Police have asked elementary school parents not to arrive to pick up students before 2:20 p.m. Officers say any cars standing on Culver Road will be issued a ticket.
