Pulaski County Commissioners to Get Update on Wind Turbines, Consider Bridge Inspection Contract

An update on wind turbines will be given to the Pulaski County Commissioners this morning. In the past several months, a number of filings have been made with the Federal Aviation Administration for possible wind turbines in the Francesville and Star City areas. County Attorney Kevin Tankersley has been looking into writing an ordinance that would regulate them.

The Pulaski County Commissioners are finally expected to open bids today for lawn care and snow removal at various county properties. The idea of hiring an outside contractor to do the work was raised several months ago, as a cheaper alternative to upgrading the county’s equipment.

Pulaski County Road 700 North Bridge Replacement to Start Next Month

Final preparations are underway for the replacement of the bridge on Pulaski County Road 700 North over Bogus Run. Jeff Larrison with United Consulting gave an update to the county commissioners Monday. “We’ve conducted the pre-construction meeting with JCI, the contractor that was selected, and we basically have the plan in place now for how to address the project timing-wise,” he explained. “Construction is expected to start March 1, weather-permitting.”

The county has gotten bids from three companies for hot mix asphalt work on County Road 200 South from U.S. 421 to State Road 39 and County Road 400 East from 200 North to 400 North.
