The North Judson-San Pierre School Board accepted a donation last week, but not without concerns that the money could be put to better use. N.J.-S.P. got a $100 anonymous donation to help with negative lunch account balances, but limited that to students getting free and reduced lunch.

The North Judson-San Pierre School Board has decided to pursue a renovation project at the elementary school. School officials had also been considering moving the elementary school to the former middle school building, but board members voted Tuesday to commit to the renovation of the current elementary school, instead.

Kersting’s Cycle Center has some events happening this weekend that will give motorcycle riders a couple of chances to break out the bikes, which might have undergone services like custom build motorcycles.
Today, Kersting’s will be holding an open house, recognizing Harley Davidson’s 115th Anniversary. The first 115 individuals to arrive will get a pin commemorating the occasion. Continue reading

The Starke United Annual Dinner was held last night at Community Services of Starke County.
Executive Director Julie Dessauer talked about programs Starke United supported during 2011 which included the Kindergarten Countdown, the Boy Scout and Girl Scout Food Drive, JA More than Money, Familywize, and 211. $13,000 will be distrbuted in undesignated funds this year.
