Work on Francesville’s new public art installation gets underway today. A mural is being painted on the side of the Neihouser Building 118 West Montgomery Street, according to the Tippecanoe Arts Federation. Brooklyn-based muralist Jenna Morello will work on the mural over the next week.

Francesville’s Main Street organization is getting $5,000 to help continue its efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs has awarded a total of $200,000 to 40 Indiana Main Street organizations impacted by COVID-19, through its Taking Care of Main Street program.

The Francesville Town Park’s new quiet space is about 99-percent done, according to Clerk-Treasurer Linda Bennett. The new quiet space at the south end of the park features a bench, pergola, and landscaping, to create a serene environment. It was created with the help of a $10,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Pulaski County, along with several private donations.
Farmer’s Market to be Featured in Francesville
A Farmer’s Market is coming to Francesville.
Members of the Uptown Project presented the information to the Francesville Town Council Monday night. Chairperson Kristin Hinkle from the Pulaski County Community Development Commission said the Farmer’s Market will begin sometime in June. They plan to contact vendors to see when they’re ready to present items for sale.
Park Board Information Presented to Francesville Town Council
Francesville May Consider Adding Park Board
The Town of Francesville may be looking into adding a park board. Clerk-Treasurer Linda Bennett says the idea was brought to the town council Monday by a representative from the UpTown Project. “They asked about maybe getting a park board, so that, maybe, we could get some grants,” Bennett explains. “And that will be looked into. We’re going to contact some other towns to see what theirs is.”

Francesville’s town-wide garage sales will take place tomorrow during the Francesville Spirit Day celebration. Fifty vendors in and around the community will be taking part in this year’s event. Continue reading
